Habits and heat.

I think my camera is wondering where I am. The only photo I took today was the technicians looking at my sister's (new) fridge. I realised too, that I am carrying my phone outside my handbag when leaving my home, as if to set up Google maps, but I know where I am going here. (I think?)

I keep pressing the wrong colour button on the gate remote because my Durban bnb was a different colour.

I am genuinely still surprised that it is so hot in Johannesburg. My winter obviously stretched out longer as I was still reluctant to pack away my thick sweater.

Tonight I watched the dog do her business on the lawn under an almost full moon and listened to the Jozi noises.

Crickets mixed with the drone of far away traffic and right now, the hum of the fan. Childhood memories flashed through my mind and a feeling of deep contentment came over me.
