I woke up before Rusty this morning! But I let him lie beside me for a while and I think he sensed I was leaving him today.  So we set off for an extra long session and I realised that I was feeling rather tired so decided it would be a walk and not a run. It seemed like everyone was back in the village and out in the new shoes working on their resolutions. I wished I had the streets to myself again but then appreciated the mornings I did have to follow Rusty through the silent streets.

Around 4km I realised that I wanted to take photos of the Blue Plaques that the Heritage Foundation awarded them so we headed back to the house to get my camera.  Rusty was confused because I didn't take his lead off him inside the gate, but was super chuffed when he realised we were going back out. I took the photos and gave him a total walk of 7km although he had a few extra gallops in the dog park.

Then I started packing before Nic arrived to help sort out my not-so-smart car. Unfortunately we had to call in the tow truck to take it to the mechanic and the flat bed trailer arrived.  There were jokes about only needing a one tonner truck, but it got winched up and I said goodbye to both my car and Rusty.

On arrival at my sister's, her Jack Russell was extremely pleased to see me after giving me the necessary sniff inspection.  We went for a short walk round the block to get her legs moving and the rest of the day I spent on my electronics.

I'm car-los for the next while and the idea feels strange, even though I managed 5 months without my personal wheels in the UK. Holding thumbs that my wee car has an easy(and cheap) fix.
