Gabriel and wild.

Thursday 22nd June 2023

Well,  it's slipped into Friday but I'm using it as yesterday,  wait,  I'm confusing myself, lol. I'm not long back from the Peter Gabriel concert at the Hydro and it was all brilliant.  The weather, the volume,  the performance...

I'm a bit annoying when it comes to sound quality on live shows because of my sound engineering training. So I almost nitpick sound however tonight in the Hydro, I was impressed. There were moments when Peter's voice could have been louder but overall it was brilliant.  As he's gotten older, he still has this performance standard which is amazing. Tonight the lighting was clever, even though we were sitting on the side of the stage. The Dublin show's lighting was probably more impressive but he's older and the show was more sedate in a Storyteller way. Still amazing to think that I've now seen him twice. Sigh.

When we got out of the arena, the light was beautiful and I had to stop and take some pictures. Completely windstill and the Clyde River looked stunning.  I'm amazed at the light, or should I say lack of darkness.  I took the last picture at 11.45 and there's still a blue tinge to the sky.

I missed the local fox as we turned the bend, it nipped into the hedges. I was so surprised the first time I saw an 'urban fox' in Paisley, years ago. There's so many things I don't know about and the wildlife is one of them. But it's fun learning.  I still get excited when I see squirrels,  and today I spotted two very near to the path I was running on. So I stopped and we eyed each other up for a moment before one of us leapt away with far more enthusiasm than the other,  haha.
