Funerals and preparations

Friday 31 March 2023

The end of the third month and I woke up to pouring rain, thunder and no power.  It was dark snd misty and perfect weather for a funeral.  It suited the mood to say goodbye to my dear neighbour.

The funeral was nearby so I knew I had plenty of time to get ready so I took my time leaving my warm cosy bed. It's hard to believe that last week I was needing my cooling towel.  Today I had my puffer jacket on and am writing this wrapped in a blanket.

The funeral was well attended and it was comforting to see how much Theo was loved and remembered.  Of course, my thoughts went to Dad and there were tears at the rich lives both these men lived.

I've been working all night, on my tour notes for tomorrow so my brain is all mixed up. Plus I'm a little concerned about not contacting the on site person for the gaol. His boss assured me all will be OK but I drove past the venue tonight just at the start of a storm, to see if he was there. He wasn’t. I'm thinking I might need a wire cutter tomorrow to 'break into a jail' haha. But I'm hoping that he's okay and is on site to open up. There's around 23 guests expected tomorrow so I'm hoping to entertain them all.
