I visited a building I love again today. I have spent the night at the Rand Club and there's still so much unseen. The club had a Summer Faire today and it was fantastic, freezing but fantastic. I was able to get onto the first and second floor which is usually only open to members and the libraries are charming. I love old buildings, and being full of people makes the walls seem alive. Yes, I am weird like that...
It was also lovely seeing some new areas that have been refurbished. Pity I don't drink. Haha
it is truly a must see place. I learned today that the pillars on the main staircase are hollow, well they surround metal structures. So much more to learn.
It was a miserable day of weather and after watching some coverage of a trail run in Cape Town, the last thing I felt like was going out to a live show. But the tickets bought so off we went. It turned out to be one if those intimate gigs were I felt like I was watching their rehearsal. Wonderboom is a band that I have never seen 'live' before, so it was really cool.
The venue was next to a huge costume warehouse and on route to the bathroom, I just couldn't help myself from playing with the props.
The sound was quite loud but not as hectic as I thought and I really enjoyed it.
All this fun in one day!
