Some mornings the magnetic pull of the bed is just too strong, haha. But Molly 'heard' me promising her a walk yesterday so she was staring at me really intensely. I obeyed her and we went for a half hour walk. It was surprisingly warm on the last stretch and both of us were panting a little louder when we got back.
I am fortunate to have the best friends and today, one of them spent an hour giving me a great aromatherapy massage. After yesterday's realignment with Sean, I had the relaxation today with Lorna, so my body is grateful.
I was grateful too, for a quick catch up with my 'Greek lockdown' friend, Staci. It was during that stationary period where I had the opportunity to really get to know her via social media and since my travels, the contact has thinned out. But, one thing I've learned is that a great foundation of friendship means that catch ups are quick and easy. Connections can be funny. I've had amazing experiences with strangers on a plane (no, not that type, haha) hostels, courses, clients or standing in queues and my life is richer for every single one, even those long forgotten.
Some friends are like a limited edition tonic, in that I get short 'sips' of the connection elixir. This week, I've had a crate full and I feel really grateful.
So sitting in the dark with battery on 40% after our power didn't 'return' at 8pm, I'm still feeling pretty upbeat and that makes all the difference in my world.
