Friends and wolves

Thursday 12th May 2022

Back to back friends. Today was fun catching up with people that I haven't seen in person for some time. That's why I like using Facebook- it fills in a lot of gaps of daily life so a one hour catch up can cover a lot of ground. Although I probably use Facebook far more than any of my friends, so I do still ask a lot of questions.

It was a lovely mild Autumn day as I drove around from suburb to suburb. The harsh seasonal angle of the light hides the gaping potholes so I drive slower with my eyes scanning the tree shadows. With my eyes down, I miss the canopy of beige and brown leaves. At one traffic light the wind was lightly shaking the leaves off their Summer perch. I wondered if it was perhaps the branches that shake them off and for a brief second I felt the buzz. Of course I laughed and drove off after the tree encounter only to be cajoled into walking Molly around the block. Her foot has healed nicely enough to let her out on the pavements. (She'd hurt her "thumb')

We'd almost gotten back when a bakkie drove by and hooted. He shouted out a 'charfing noise' and I laughed at the distant memory of when I last had a 'wolf whistle' in my direction. Perhaps it was directed towards Molly, the mini wolf. I'll never know, lol.
