Today I had a lot of time thinking about friendships. My lifelong friend had invited me to lunch with her mum who was up from the Vaal Triangle for the weekend. It's great having people that know my whole tribe and foundations yet we don't know much about current stuff. Hang on, they see my life on Facebook, haha!
I quizzed them about all their goings on, in a lovely little restaurant called the Old Ducky French Cafe in Pineslopes. Of course there were the mandatory photos to which there was sufficient growling about them 'being put onto Facebook'. But here, I am, blogging about it...
Then it was onto my next social event of the day. My friend was celebrating her graduation with a Law degree. This is the reason why I left Durban earlier than my December plan. And I am so super proud of my friend who had left school with no matric. Now, at a later age, doing her degree through a full time job, juggling family and Comrades marathon training, her charity works, then a retrenchment, finishing her 10th Comrades marathon, and a new entrepreneurial career through lockdown- she has made it. A graduate!
Congratulations Marlene
And of course, there were graduation cupcakes!
