Saturday 12 March 2022

I woke up to mountain mist which was perfect for an early morning run. We all gathered together to set off around 6.30. The area is forest and kiwi crops with a beautiful river meandering through with some areas dammed up. The majority of the group have been running consistently and around 5km there was a split at the waterfall, I decided to turn back while the rest did and extrbig loop. I knew that I shouldn't overdo it.

Which was a great idea because our 'short lunchtime hike' down the Magoebaskloof forest proved to be extremely technical and I was very grateful to have brought my Camino walking stick along. There was a group of 25 of us, of all ages and shapes and sizes. The path was very slippy in places but it was lovely walking in the forest. I sweated so much from my head that my blue colour is probably only going to last a couple of weeks, lol.

So now it's waiting for loadshedding at 9pm so I'm rushing to finish this before lights out.
