The day of fools, but we've been living with crazy days that it's becoming harder to fool people. I lay in my lovely bnb watching the morning light pass through the window blinds and felt sad about having to leave this one.
On my drive westward, I realised that I would be driving close to Delta Park so punched in the details into my GPS and suddenly I was gasping for breath at the sight of the field. I often get excited over these delicate pretty flowers but I have never seen such a huge display. I was skipping through the path and smiling as wide as I can. I also remembered a heritage article mentioning the Water works building from the 1930s. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it looking in good shape too.
I picked up some props for my cohosting the downtown city tour and made my way to my hotel, the Hallmark, at the side of the city. I was excited to stay here, being recently refurbished and I managed to get a great deal which made it even more exciting. The room is stunning and large. I made my way to the rooftop bar which is definitely not my usual stop. The music was incredibly loud and I was pleased to get there before the 'in crowd' started to arrive and in time to see the sun set over the city.
I had forgotten how much I love watching the busy city from on high. When I was 17, my brother and sister had a flat in Hilbrow that was high up on the hill and I used to spend hours just staring out the window. As I found myself mesmerized again tonight, I realised it reminds me of a massive jigsaw puzzle and gives my eyes so much to see and spot. Then my imagination fills in the stories in my mind and I watch humanity carry on regardless. There are many derelict buildings but I was surprised by how many have been refurbished
Tomorrow I play 4 different characters on my tour, which will be a first for me. Skitting- live!
