Feelin(e) Sunday

Sunday 8th October 2023

Waking up with a sore throat set the tone for my Sunday, which was less rainy than yesterday. I aimed to go for a walk in the afternoon but that didn't happen, so my day was one of couch and remote adventures.

I was rather chuffed with myself though because the skittish cat wrapped herself around my legs while I was sorting out their food and there was less panic scampering, than yesterday. In my short time of doing housesitting, I prefer the animals take their time and choose to approach me than trying to force the issue. Cats in particular are very choosy so if they come near me, I feel like the 'chosen one' haha.

I'm amazed at how neat they are, and they eat their food delicately, yet can rip a pigeon or other unfortunate small animals, with savagery and mess. Hopefully these two don't like me that much, that they want to bring me gifts of a bloody kind.

On letting her majesty out the front door to go do her business, I happened to notice the colours on the clouds and briefly pretended it is the 'aurora borealis'. I am in the North of the country and it was lights, so in effect it was the 'northern lights'. That's my theory for now and while I sip my lemon drink and wait to be 'summoned' to the door again, I'm feeling grateful for this time to be able to rest and recover.
