Easy does it

Monday 14th August 2023

After all the flurry of activity the past few days, Angie and I were in agreement to take it slower. Our other friend managed to get a 2 hour break in her care job, so we made our way back over to the same Canal area and brunch with her.

The weather was a little cooler and comfortable and after the sauna/tube ride from Brixton, it was a relief. This particular route is hotter noiser than most others, I'm convinced.  Fortunately the clouds kept the rain contained while we walked along the canal again. I'm still intrigued by the permanent dwellers on these boats and we saw the  'household' rubbish being collected on the water.

The restaurant was lovely and we'd decided to sit down properly and take our time. The table had a perfect view over the canal which gave us a stunning backdrop to chat about our shared history of working together in our TV days. The restaurant filled up around lunchtime so we headed back to the subway for our now familiar trip back.

The tempo of the day was calmer and easy and these kind of days are just as important as the busy sightseeing days. I'm really feeling fortunate.
