Early morning

Sunshine forced me out of bed and down to the beachfront this morning. When I parked up at the really full lot, I was amazed at the amount of people out and about at 7am in the morning. It's almost like they were celebrating something.

That something is- life!

All shapes and sizes, all modes of sport, both on earth and on in the water, were present and thriving.

I set off rather heavily and forgot to start my watch until half a kay into my run- argh!

The waves seemed fierce at the river mouth and I watched again transfixed by the currents and swirls of the waters meeting. When does the fresh water get salty? Are there specific fish that like this mixture of waters?

I saw about 7 Cormorant birds swimming and diving in a patch of water, while facing the downward currents of the Umgeni river. I felt like them when I turned around to run into the wind. I didn't have too far to run in it fortunately and I sat at my 'local' with a chocolate milk to recover admiring the view. The wind got chilly on my sweaty body so I left fairly quickly. Running mission accomplished.
