Droning on

Friday 27th January 2023

'Bird FM' wakes me up nowadays and I quite like the moments before the world bursts into traffic noise and generators. It felt cooler in the bedroom so I dressed in my long sleeve running top because the first stretch of Molly walking at 6am is rather still. She was super excited to see my head nod when she stared into my face asking if she was coming with me. I enjoy watching dogs as they find the most fascinating smelling blade of grass, rat carcass,  other dog's business and dead bird chicks that get blown out of their nest.

The cool weather gave way to another scorcher later on and on a quick trip to the shops, I bought a cooling towel. I'd forgotten how brilliant they are and saw Marlene use it on her run. I've had it on since I returned from the shop and it really helps.

I decided to try out my sister's drone and see if I could figure it out. A drone is a flying machine that can take video or pictures from up high, this one is rather small and at first I couldn't get the right combinations of buttons to press. So I Googled and decided to give it another try. I can't remember how I did it but I got it to fly and take some pictures. Unfortunately I was in too much of a hurry so I didn't realise that saving the photos somewhere means buying a particular software.  I was still chuffed with myself for getting it to hover.

I'd love to investigate more and use footage in my short videos that I'm working on. But we'll see if my sister lets me use it again,  haha.  I'll investigate more online when the loadshedding stops. Which should have been 45 minutes ago,  sigh.
