Today was a house bound day apart from a walk with Molly. We'd woken early with the birds but it felt a lot cooler so I was reluctant to get up and out on the road. However Molly has the saddest face and she pleaded with me to take her out. So we set out just in time for the heat to start. She struggled a bit when we took a different route so we came back early and she passed out for most of the day.
I fiddled with my sister's swimming pool and the water felt lovely but I didn't get in it today. Debbie's gardner was mowing the dusty lawn so I retreated inside and closed the windows to stop the dust. I sorted out some of my bags which had mostly winter clothing packed away and I tried to remember 6 months ago. I struggled to recall events and places in an order and it's one of the reasons why I take so many photos. There'll be one day when I look back at all the different albums just take it all in.
It still amazes me when I see my photo gallery with the labelled albums still stored on my phone. Norway seems like a figment of my imagination but there it is, shining in it's beautiful colours.
Yesterday I met with a friend and colleague for a quick catch up and drop off an overseas parcel. I've known him since my first day on our TV training job. He'd left South Africa for New Zealand around the same time that I left, to visit his grown up kids. It was interesting hearing his stories and how well his kids have settled in their new country. The modern world has many families spread across the globe and although it's so much easier staying in touch, it's still hard to not physically see them.
Debbie's pets were glad to have me stay in physical touch today, although I'm still wary of Emily the psycho cat.
