Waking up to a very happy dog can make my day. I love seeing the excitement in the wagging tail, the bounce in the step and the nudge to get my takkies on. The bulldog in this house is quite unlike her brother. She lies in her room under her blankie until she's ready to face the day. In a way it's similar to my sister and I.
She was always cheerful first thing and bounced her way into the day. I was a grunt and groan type although I'm a lot more like her nowadays, she still can't turn over and go back to sleep once wakened. Nor can she nap during the day. Now that I don't want to be like.
Taking two heavy set dogs for their walk on her own is admirable. Watching the Labrador stay at her heels when she has the lead is fascinating. It's like she becomes the Dog Whisperher, and is a true pack leader. The bulldog on the other side can't be influenced as easily but still pretty cool to watch.
I've loved staying with a different local sibling, it has been many years since I stayed at her place which was then in Hartebeespoort. Becoming part of her usual routine gives me a tiny glimpse into her life, and that is what I enjoy. Watching how people live.
