I'm obviously more tired than I realised. I snoozed again today while listening to educational videos. I did take Rusty for an extra stretch of our run this morning as I decided it was a lovely morning to run round the dam again. Our previous runs had been dull and wet, but I wished I'd had my camera today because the light across the water with all the ducks and birds lined up, was simply beautiful.
I know that the dam is man-made but the surrounding bullrushes and birdlife, nature has provided. The marshland area is stunning yet contained and on the one side is the built up Gautrain track. The track was busy today with 5 sightings and one 'hearing' on our hour long run. The train goes on to the airport in one direction and onto Sandton the other. Rusty was very excited to see other runners out and about this morning as life seems to be returning to normal.
He was super-excited later, when we were at the dog park and his buddy, Apollo returned from holiday. He started sniffing the air when there was nobody on the horison. A few minutes later, he stopped, tail straightened and ears cocked. Suddenly the recognition and a passionate romp ensued. They tire themselves out and then plop down in the shady bits while waiting for us 'owners' to catch up. He spent the night snoozing on the cool tiles while I played games on my phone. An idyllic night.
