Distractions

Wednesday 31st August 2022

This morning I woke to rain. For a moment I was disappointed that I couldn't run. Well, I could run if I had the right wet running clothes lol.

The end of the eighth month of the year. It's gone by in a blur although I can hardly remember what I did last week.  We met my sisters friends for a coffee and I was trying to recall what we'd done in this month and it's quite remarkable.  There's so many things around our homes and towns that we don't see, so I'm enjoying looking in places which might not normally get looked at. Of course it helps when there's 4000 castles in a country that's 40 times smaller than the USA.

We sat in a lovely restaurant for our cappuccinos and I listened to my sisters and friends chat about all sorts of things local. There's so many different things that I know nothing about. I have relaxed into listening into conversations that I can't partake in. It used to make me nervous not having anything to say, but now I enjoy listening.

My nieces popped round and I love seeing them go about their daily life. It's fascinating to see the next generation in action.  My next action was to come upstairs and watch another episode of Shetland. So if this blog post seems distracted you know why, lol

Tomorrow there's another adventure planned.
