Daylight saving

Updated: Oct 30, 2023

Sunday 29th October 2023

The clocks changed. Winter daylight time is now in place. I woke up trying to figure out what time it was and wondered if my watch had changed by itself. It had.

My body felt a bit of twinging after yesterday's badminton but I felt quite good. A strange bruise had popped up on my wrist and I think my watch had something to do with it but I don't know what happened to cause it.

Another game of badminton was on the cards and I was pleased to see the arrival of plastic shuttlecocks to replace the feather style of yesterday. After a great game we walked out of the fitness centre into the dark. It was 5.05pm! This surprised me immensely. Last year I left in the beginning of November so this is going to take a bit of getting used to until I leave early December.

The daylight saving time was started as a means of saving candles and electricity and was used in the UK from May 1916.

It feels like my own lights went out early tonight as I've been snoozing all the way through 'Lewis and Vera' on telly. I have no idea of the murderer in either episode, haha.
