Cruise Sun day

Saturday 8th July 2023

Today was a day at sea. The last day of our 9 day fjord cruise.  The clocks went back in the night too, so when I woke up and looked at my watch I wondered if the time had changed or was it 5am? I decided to continue sleeping as there was no rush to get up for anything. After an hour I thought I'd go run in the gym.

I managed to find all my gear and leave the bedroom dark for Angie to continue sleeping.  The sun was out bright and cheerful but the North Sea wind was blasting so no deck running for me. I managed to do a comfortable run while watching the map of the area and I realised that I was running 'alongside' my sister's area near Sunderland so I waved, haha. When I got back to the Ireland Angie got a fright as she thought I was still sleeping and was waiting for me to wake up. We had a good laugh and made our way up to breakfast.

We met up with the other friendly couple and heard more about their lives plus had a Canadian couple join us who are staying on the ship for a tour to Iceland and then the British Isles. We chatted about cruises and RVs (Recreational Vehicles) which they've just downsized back home.  The dining areas were very busy today but not as busy as the pool areas.

In the afternoon Angie wanted to go into the jacuzzi but every sun lounger was full. Everyone out lapping up the sun and warmer temperatures. I'm not a sun lounger at all.but sat for a few minutes before I got antsy. Speaking of 'bugs', suddenly a butterfly was flapping around which was surprising seeing as we're in the middle of the North Sea.  Then two pigeons flew by, and a fly and a bumblebee. I was astounded.  Not sure if they climbed on board at one of the docks or perhaps they came over on the ship from America, either way I was surprised.

We had a light supper and now readying ourselves for our last evening of swaying while sleeping.  It's been a fantastic journey with so many 'firsts'.

I can't wait for the internet,  I have so much to research...
