Cough, cough

Thursday 12th October 2023

I woke up to a strange noise. I was in the middle of an even stranger dream so I was glad to wake up but I realised that the noise was my breathing. My chest suddenly felt yuck. I moved and coughed, although it was more of a bark. Uh-oh. I didn't think that I'd felt that rough yesterday but I was in the position to not have to adventure anywhere today nor meet anyone so I lay awake until I heard my brother stir.

Fortunately for his ride back to Glasgow, the sun was out and the wind had calmed down. He planned on getting on board a train for a section of the cycle, so after breakfast he set off. In 2019 he and my brother in law cycled the length of Britain over a period of two weeks. I watched their daily progress from afar and with awe. I'm still intimidated by the whole bicycle story so when he kitted up I watched with interest but not envy. Especially seeing that my chest was rather fragile.

The cats were a bit friendlier around me too. Perhaps they sensed that I was a bit under the weather. I spent the day recovering and catching up with some series. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
