Cops, cats and lunch fun

Monday 24th April 2023

I woke up early again thinking that I hadn't slept long but it was already getting light. I'm a bit of a tosser (haha) so was surprised that I slept so deeply around 1am. The one cat came in and lay on my side giving me 'purr therapy' on my waking and after my shower the other cat came in to do inspection. I had an online meeting that I was excited about so was all ready to go at 8.30am.

After my meeting I suddenly decided to go to the police station to get police clearance just in case I want to do caring work in the UK. My niece came along and we sat silently in the unsignposted Customer Service area. There was an older man being helped at the counter about fraud on his account and I was appalled at the police lady's line of questioning.  It was almost shaming the victim and I was grumbling under my breath until I was directed to a different office for the clearance procedure. I don't want to get too negative because my day was lovely but let's just say that the clearance fingerprint ink doesn't get cleared that easily bending down over an outside tap.

To brighten the day we had a lekker lunch with friendly staff and bought some rabbit food. I had no idea that Checkers sells the different types of pet food. We went back to my sister's house and I played ball with a happy Labrador while his sister was a bit poorly on the porch.

It's been great catching up with my grown up niece and once again I'm feeling really grateful for having all these fascinating lives in my clan. Of course the sky was bragging with it's clouds which disappeared as the sun set,  so the dramatic colours were minimal tonight.
