Commencing countdown

Sunday 15th May 2022 One night left. This meant packing day. When sorting out my togbags at my sister's house, Molly kept averting my eyes with the saddest look.  Goodbyes to people are hard, but to animals, even if they aren't my own, are harder.  I told Molly that I love her and left quickly to avoid any tears and to try sort out my backpack.

I have learned over the past few months to downsize and streamline but I've always had a car to carry the bags. The size of the car has varied but I whittled down to 2 togbags and my laundry basket. However I am trying to get one backpack and a small rucksack bag because I prefer having my hands free getting on and off public transport.  The clothes for the trip aren't as much of a problem as the medicines and vitamins are. Those things are heavy! I interrupted my systematic inventory to go for a PCR test, just in case it's needed. I was dreading the test because previously, I kicked the nurse reflexively when she tried to remove my tonsils with the swab. I told today's chap this and he pleaded with me to not hurt him, but I was surprised by how much better the nose swab felt.  The patient before me had screamed from the cubicle so I was allowed to make some squealing noises. But I was smiling when I left. We'd arranged a 'running girls coffee' to say goodbye at the local Mugg and it was fun to be together again. I'm the only one not running crazy kilometres at the moment but it reminded me of how lekker it is to be part of this small group of ladies. We chatted and laughed and then rushed away as an unusual rain shower chased us into our cars. My pharmacy duties resumed when I got back and fortunately my washing was saved from the shower.  Thanks Nic! Tomorrow I might have a very early blog post or a delayed one, but we'll see how it goes.
