After a bumpy night of neighbourhood dogs barking I felt quite good this morning. I tested my voice and only the deep husky undertones were working. My light hearted giggle and any animal talk was just a whisper.
I was asked for an emergency therapy session yesterday but I couldn't manage but I realised that I could help today so we set up the appointment. I managed to talk enough so he could get the gist and then I let him do the talking. It feels really good to help people get relief when they feel so helpless and overwhelmed.
Another friend had asked for my help in booking her overseas travel so I made my way over to her and was treated to my first braai of the South African summer. It was a lovely warm afternoon and as I was driving back in the early evening, the skies were lit up with lightning bolts giving me a delayed Guy Fawks display of natural light.
I'm enjoying the green of the Highveld grasses and the tail end of the lilac Jacaranda season. The flowers are radiant after having had the much needed rains. It's interesting to see so many beasties -or goggas around, because I'd only really seen spiders in the UK. There's a Christmas beetle hitting the ceiling somewhere and those brown hard beetles always remind me of my very young summers in South Africa.
All this creepy crawly talk- I hope I can fall asleep without itching, lol!
