Clearing up

Sunday 30th April 2023

That's it. The last day of April.  Done, finish, klaar, finito. That leaves me 10 days before I jet north for the UK summer.

So today I did a bit of phone cleanup with 30 gig of photos that I transferred! I still have a lot on my phone but I just can't seem to limit my photo-taking. See a cloud? Click. See a dog? Click. See a cemetery? Click... and on it goes. The digital clutter is easier to maneuver than old photo albums, and thousands of negatives. But the process of taking pictures used to cost money so there was more of a selection process.  Then the long wait for the development,  only to find eyes closed, or blurry image or my mum’s favourite... heads cut off. The good old sepia days ...

Apart from seeing how cool I look in my blue velvet mini, cutting the pointy moves on the living room dance floor,  I know mum actually took this photo.

Today I got in touch with nature's mum by sweeping up the Autumn litter that was all over the driveway. Loadshedding interrupted my digital declutter mid afternoon so I got useful with a broom and pan. It was rather hard work and I ended up having several hot flushes too. The weather has been fantastic over this period and I'm hoping it can stretch a little longer so I can pack away the standby winter clothes.

I'm a little bit behind with April's writing project too, so it's going to be late, like the frost. Life got rather busy the past couple of weeks.
