I managed to run 4km on the treadmill this morning. It makes a difference having a lovely view although it is still a slog on the machine. Harley the lab got very excited when he saw my small towel. Once I realised why he was excited, I told him that I'm not swimming yet as it was too early. He lay on the floor next to the treadmill and I thought he might step on the moving mat but he didn't. The bulldog, Avi, doesn't really like to move too far from her viewpoint on the other landing.
The rest of the day was mellow again, with feeding the animals in between. I coax the old bulldog outside to do her business with chicken vienna sausages. So every time I open the fridge both dogs perk up and look hopeful. Which means that I end up giving them more than they probably get and I had to order more today from grocery deliveries. Checkers 60/60 is a brilliant initiative which really gained momentum in lockdown in South Africa. Maximum 60 items delivered within 60 minutes. The food arrives on a scooter in brown paper bags and it's just so easy, especially now, not having a car. I put my order in and within 20 minutes I was offloading the new sausage stock into the fridge.
I'm enjoying more chill time, in the warm weather. I know I'll get motivated to do more work sometime, but today was not the day, haha.
