Cheerful Chooseday

Tuesday 21st February 2023

I woke up feeling MUCH better than yesterday.  Even the power and the sunshine played along.  I went for a run after taking a very happy Molly and reflected back to yesterday's low feeling.  The reason why I write about my low times is to show that I do have them and that only writing about the good times is not a true reality of my life. Plus it helps me understand them when I write it out.

I'm able to shift out of the lower energy once I've acknowledged to myself that right at that moment I feel shite. (A good Scottish expression and one of the only swear words my mum used when she was really mad). Sometimes it takes longer to get my mood up back up to 'speed' but I've learned to be patient and gentle with myself which is what I did yesterday.  I found myself crying after I'd posted last night's blog post and it was obviously much needed.  I used to be a frequent crier but now I'm a frequent flyer haha.

I have kept a journal/diary for most of my life and sometimes it's useful to read back and see the patterns and progress. Plus my writing mind is different from my speaking mind and it's very cathartic to write every day. It's often recommended by therapists and I'm finding this daily blog post is standing in for my free hand writing. Traveling light is my life motto at the moment so digital space is working well.

I took myself off to the large mall during the afternoon loadshedding and treated myself to the lunchtime special steak and it was delicious.  I was going to walk around some more but my sister's house alarm went off so I rushed back to find unknown reasons for the trigger. I'm thinking it might have been a wasp that flew past the sensor because it was buzzing around the windows for ages.

Our night power outage has started now and the crickets are singing which have been quiet for weeks due to the heavy rains.  The mozzies are surrounding me too, so I'm grateful for the loan of a battery fan which is working a treat.

Today is filled with Tuesday gratitude and pancakes.
