Chapel and friends

I ventured out of the estate again for our run this morning. I figured being New Year weekend-Sunday it would be the quietest time to run around the dam. The wetlands are looking so green after our healthy rains and there are loads of different birds. Rusty seemed more relaxed too, although he did speed up nervously running across the pedestrian metal bridge alongside the road stone bridge. Saw the Gautrain again too. I waved, lol.

I wanted to get inside the small chapel, St Francis in the Wood, at the edge of the estate and being Sunday, was my moment. I figured that the service would take an hour and I would wander in at the finish. My childhood of compulsory mass put aside any need to sit through the service, plus the current weather conditions are crazy enough, I don't need to confuse the elements more by my attending church.

I parked at the mall and walked over, took some photos and sat in the shade waiting for it to end. But it didn't. After a half hour of quietly waiting, I walked through the garden and happened to notice my school friend drive by. I laughed, realising that she had seen me too. So I walked back to the mall and joined them and her parents for a quick drink. By the time I drove past the chapel, it was all closed again. So I was content to wait with a playful, naughty Rusty until it was time to join dear friends for lunch.

Friends make the world go around.
