Capital train

Wednesday 26th July 2023

I was on the move again today. Another quick decision of a trip. This time, it was up to Edinburgh for an interview tomorrow. I sat on my trains and smiled at the coastal bays and different landscape as I realised that I recognised when we crossed into Scotland.  It was more of a feeling than recognition, but it was a nice feeling.

What interview? I hear you ask. It's a part time, possibly seasonal, Experience Guide at Johnnie Walker whisky.  Yes, I don't drink, but I know my pitch. The interview letter is asking for character and that I can certainly supply, haha.  There's a long story associated with Johnnie Walker which I'll explain on a later blog but this in-person interview was a surprise.  I'd applied for a few seasonal tour guide jobs, there's a lot of variety on the one app called Indeed. And it's so easy to apply so I'd forgotten about this application and I can't tell you when I did it. The in-person interview is a new aspect too because I've had a few online ones so I'm looking forward to the experience.

At this stage I'm not 'needing' a job although it would most certainly help. I'm very curious to the whole whisky experience aspect too so it should be fun. Oh, and yes,  I'm going as a character- Mrs Johnnie Walker, Elizabeth Purves. I think her angle might not have been 'heard' before lol. I might not get the position but they won't forget me!

Thanks in advance for the good luck! Hahaha.
