Cabin fever?

For the last three weeks, my travel blog became more of a canine adventure but it really has been all about the dog (the cats have been support actors). Today was no exception.

My 'alarm' went off on the bedroon door, right on the exact minute and we fortunately caught a lull in rather British rain forour run. Rusty was almost subdued after last night's romping in the park.

There was a wild goose chase which surprised me, but fortunately I was closer to him this time, when he launched into his full sprint. A fellow runner, coming towards us in the street made Rusty turn away from his bird and stop to get strapped into his leash.

The rain came down as soon as we got back and traffic disruptions altered my original breakfast plans. My friend invited me to lunch so I happily walked down the road, because I can. After a lovely time I walked back to a rather disturbed scene. Rusty obviously needed to test out my skit wigs and basically redesigned the TV room. He gave me his skew smile when I scolded him and I remembered that our Jack Russell's would be extremely naughty if we dared leave our house on foot without them. So I think he was aware that I didn't drive away and got really excitable and naughty.

I took him early for my last afternoon walk in the socialization park and after 90 minutes we made our way back. He walked slowly and calmly back and I'm sure I heard him snoring now.

Tomorrow I head back west, and although I'm only a half hour drive from home it really feels like I have been on holiday in a different city.
