Bunny chows

Waking up to a much cooler city got me thinking about where we could go for lunch. I searched for indoor venues and came up with a few options. We drove to the golden mile to the fancy hotels. Today my friend experienced the crazy Durban drivers when I was hooted out of the left hand lane by some kids who didn't want to pass me on the right. Being Saturday, it seemed like there was a different kind of crazy and the wind blasting made it feel even more unpredictable.

The first hotel we tried was the Maharani, and on talking to the security guard, we discovered that this beautiful hotel was closed for business. We went next door to the Elengeni which was open and I had my first Durban Bunny Chow. Fortunately the spices weren't the extreme version and the bread was light and tasty. The weather got thicker but we still managed a walk to the pier. It's interesting to see the different weather and moods of the sea. It was surprising how calm it was in spite of the strong wind.
