It rained lightly all night but the sun broke through and deceived me into thinking it was warm. But I was still wearing my jacket and full length jeans when we headed to the 1860 heritage museum.

I am still a bit surprised by the cool temperatures of Durban. Apart from one sweltering morning, the temperatures have been a lot less than the Johannesburg daily temperatures. Who knew that Durban has a rainy season? Lol.


The museum is a remarkable testimony to the 1860 Indentured Indians who arrived in Port Natal to work on the cane fields. Over 150 000 people who were nothing but numbers. Everyone needs to visit the center to get this part of history into the right perspective.
