Blue Wednesday

Wednesday 9 March 2022

The Joburg rain turned up in the night and made my excitement and light sleep even lighter. My third chapter of my World Tour of South Africa suddenly became very interesting when I started remembering ideas that I'd had years ago to explore which made my mind even busier than usual.

One idea was associated with running clubs and communities. These are pockets of runners that meet in the early hours of weekend mornings to get their distance and training in before the world wakes up. I had a notion of 'touring' the different neighbourhoods on foot with the local runners but I never went any further than create a Facebook page for it. I don't have many regrets in my life, but this idea was one that I would have loved to do and now 'Chapter 3' is giving me an opportunity to experience life in different parts of the city, albeit not quite running (yet). I love exploring the world on foot, and my running has truly opened up many opportunities which I never thought would be so interesting. (I am still 50% couch potato!)

Most of my day was sitting at the hair salon. I get notions of doing wild(er) things every now and then, so blue fringe it is. It is to allow me to do my character without a wig sometimes, as well as a blue tribute to my car which leaves me tomorrow. I loaded some things in my Smartie today and the door felt remarkably light. No doubt my driving is going to take some adjusting 😉
