The rain woke me up from dreaming of snakes and elephants so I was quite relieved to be disturbed. It is my sister's birthday today and she slept late having taken the day off work. So everything started a bit late. After a birthday coffee I took Molly out for a short walk before I had to dash out for my Tour research.
My tour plan is to do a walk around the Old Gaol in Florida and I'd organised with the tenants to get inside the property. When I arrived, it was drizzling and everything was locked so I had to call the contact and I sat in my car while waiting for both drier weather and the open door. My smart car is quite a novelty and after waving and smiling at a few passersby my gate keeper arrived.
After a quick lookaround, I drove over to the Roodepoort museum where I have met a lovely knowledgeable lady. She was very helpful and gave me more information and ideas to framework my tour.
I took a drive past the West Rand 'UFO' house which I watched being built from afar but had never ventured up to see it. It's got a lovely setting but again the rain stopped me from getting out and looking at the view. It was too misty to see the view, but I will drive past again in the sunshine, now that I know where it is.
The birthday dinner ended up being an Ubermeal of curry while sitting with the battery lights waiting for our stretch of Loadshedding to end. So now the different ideas roam around in my mind while the TV kicks in again. Suburban life with tour aspirations, lol!
