The glorious weather continues! I woke early and contemplated life and all it's twists and turns. I was feeling especially chipper because I slept through, which hasn't happened for a long time.
I was heading back along the River Clyde to a small harbour town for the day and night. So I jumped on the bus early and then ended up stopping off at the big mall to change buses. I needed get a couple of small items so decided to do it today instead of putting it off again. The next bus I was to get on was very busy and I had rushed to the back to get a good view seat. But getting through all the people to get off was interesting as we trying to tap dance over each other's toes on limited floor space.
Again I was extremely grateful for the modern technology and maps on the phone. I did ignore the instructions a few times and chose to walk along the esplanade instead of alongside Friday good weather traffic. The views were spectacular and I'm loving exploring the unfamiliar land.
"Greenock has a long and rich history. A large shipbuilding industry and related suppliers developed from the construction of early fishing busses. As a port, it developed both coastal and international imports and exports, particularly sugar and wool." Internet
It's hard to imagine how tough life must have been in those days, and I'm very grateful to be visiting the area as a tourist and not living here in the industrial revolution times. I was touched by all the daisies popping out on the park lawn. I also got a very friendly hello from a brown Labrador. Apart from hearing a very rowdy ladies fight near my hotel room, I'm feeling very happy with my lot tonight.
