One of the reasons for me starting my World Tour of SA in Durban was for the heat. This past Johannesburg winter was horrid and I had deliberately not packed any of my thick woolly jumpers. Today Durban's temperature was a maximum of 18°C. It's not the bone chilling cold of the dry Highveld but it's a far cry from the sticky humidity that I expected. I'm not wanting the heat to arrive suddenly as it is rather pleasant running weather. But a gradual Spring would be nice.

I made it down to the beachfront again this morning and was delighted to see the dolphins still nearby, although the sea was a bit rougher and the tide was low. It still makes for pleasant views. Another non-Jozi characteristic is the presence of monkeys. Today there was a troop on the running path and they made no attempt to move when people came close. The babies were playing 'tag' and I wanted to stay and watch them for a while but I was near the end of my run and I had my skit to do.

It's school holidays this week and two younng lads were laughing and touching my Smartie as I walked back to it. They jumped when I pressed the remote and I joked that it looks like a toy but it is a real car. Smart talk lol!
