August whirlwind day

It started off with a power cut from 2am, so my radio didn't introduce me to the day at 6am. I was awake before then though and wondered how long it would take for the power to return. Sadly, now, at 10pm it still hasn't returned.

Sister had booked a days leave so there was no rush into the shower, instead it was boiling the kettle on the gas stove.

Then a puff of emails saying 'your Airbnb stay, your booking.com stay is coming up...'

That got me excited about the reality which is sooner than I imagine.

Because I was feeling almost totally human, my postponed meet ups were readjusted which meant that I had to now run through the shower while the water was still hot.

The gusts of activity continued throughout the day and I am quite relieved to be sitting in bed, albeit with the dim light from rechargeable light bulbs.

Living in South Africa is quite an art, and it takes time to work through the chaos but at this stage, anything else might be a bit boring.

And that, we can't have.
