Andrew

Monday 11th July 2022 Gosh, time is flying by, although I got lost in the time warp of the TV backstory again.

Today I traveled about 52 miles (my GPS switched to imperial now too) to the quaint town of St Andrews. It's known as the Golf town and this TV tournament I'm working on, will be the 150th event. Apparently it's quite a big deal, lol.

My accommodation is in one of the University halls and I can't help thinking about Prince William meeting 'Kate' here. The town seems vibrant and buzzing which I'm sure is due to the golf, but there's many a pavement pub and restaurant which are reveling in the fine weather that seems to have showed up in Scotland.  I even had to stand in front of the aircon to cool down earlier today!

I didn't get to see much of the golf course  because the TV compound seems to be in the middle of very high sand dunes. But my job today was a lot less stressful than last week's and I basically played with 'walkie talkies'.

My dear friend also joined me on this event and she was the first woman to join the very male world of SABC outside broadcasts which paved the way for me. So if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be here!

I'm hoping to get to see more if the town,  even while walking through the streets to work which I'm planning on doing tomorrow.  Pictures, will of course, follow.
