My birthday month, yey! I'm already a day late with my book project for May too, so it will probably only to be ready next week. By now you might know that my 'goals' are often flexible and loose, but I always get there in the end.

Today I was offline for most of the day due to forgetting my phone charger for the train. We went over to the isle of Bute for a walk and look see. I still get thrilled at the efficiency of public transport and today experienced bus, train and ferry so I was ecstatic even before we stepped onto the island. The harbour town of Rothsay welcomed us in by giving us enough sunshine to cheer us, but cloud cover to cool us.

My brother and his friend KJ have been doing hill walking and I was a touch nervous because I'm not walking fit. However my brother realised this and planned accordingly. He's immensely proud of Scotland and is very knowledgeable so it was fun. There were a few steep hills but it was very suburban and golf course like, so not wild, woolly Scots walking thank goodness.

I'm so unwise about my home country, I'm almost embarrassed. The geography,  history,  culture... well basically everything but I'm loving the opportunity to explore at leisure and let it all settle into the African bloodstream.  The views of the all the isles and lochs are just breathtaking and I could feel my jaw dropping most of the time.

We experienced it all today, seashore, forest, suburb,  farm, golf course and town center.  Tonight I'm feeling extremely grateful and a touch sun burnt on my face but perhaps it's a rush of warm gooey feelings from my heart.
