Adventures in the West.

After the crazy storms of yesterday, I woke up to a clear blue sky and I set off on my run. I expected to see more damage to trees in the streets but it was not bad in my area. However on my busy day of driving around, some areas looked like they'd been in a war zone. Trees uprooted, falling on walls, streets,  carports and some houses, the urban jungle showed us Mother Nature's power.

I drove over the hill to the Florida area to check out a house that I have admired for years but never stopped at. It is a possible tour idea for next year and I hadn't received any replies to my correspondence for permission so I thought I'd stop by in person. The house was built by a Scotsman in 1910 and is said to have a resident ghost or two.

I was delighted when the current resident invited me in to have a look and I chatted with her about the ghosts.  She pointed to the cellar on the floor and offered me to go down which I very hastily declined, lol. The house needs some desperate TLC and she said the current owner has had it for over 30 years. After the tour, I drove away marveling at my new found boldness and for her trusting a complete stranger and letting me in her home.

My dentist appointment was delayed so I zoomed around so my other sister for a quick coffee and check in. I almost had the courage to drive past the UFO house on the nearby ridge but I don't know the address and have never been up close to that area,  so that's an adventure for a different day.

My permanent tooth repair was sent back to the laboratory to make adjustments so I'm still sporting the longer temporary fitting that gets stained by my lipstick. The glamour will have to wait a few more days haha. In the meantime I'm heading back to the Capital for some training and of course,  I decided to stay over. I'm loving all the staycations!
