A touch in freedom

Thursday 27th April 2023

I woke up at 4.30am and after my trip to the loo, I struggled to find my dreams. The next thing I was going over the mental check lists of things to do/pack/plan. Argh. Needless to say I stayed awake until all the animals roused.

I was excited about catching up with a friend who visited the UK over Christmas and we hadn't managed to get together yet. It's a public holiday today being Freedom day, so it meant that the mall was really busy but we still had a lovely visit. I'm surprised that I forgot to take a photo of us, so no doubt we were too busy yakking to pose, lol.

After our brunch, I whizzed round some shops on my quest for comfy shoes and stroked all the winter fluffies all being unpacked for the South African winter. I'm definitely a tactile person and have bought outfits purely because I like the touch of the fabric.

(Loved the glasses on the ostrich)

It was another lovely day weatherwise and the crickets were still chirping outside tonight when we were checking the electric fence that was shorting. Earlier in the day, the same thing happened and my niece investigated, only to find a fried lizard.  The skies up here have been stunning and I just can't stop looking up. That's a good thing to do!
