A run of the mill

Thursday 15th September 2022

I woke up early and my brain felt like my aunt's springer spaniel, it switched on and I wasn't ready haha! The sun came out too and stayed most of the day. So I needed to make the most of it.

After I saw a grey squirrel in the garden, I was excited.  We don't have any squirrels in Johannesburg and although I heard that these grey ones aren't indigenous to Scotland and bully the local red local kind, I still think they're cute.

I popped in to visit an old neighbour at my turn around point of my walk but he was out. By then my watch clocked 5km and I wanted to rest so I made my way over to the old Mill and was delighted on finding the office part open to the public. Paisley town is responsible for the Paisley pattern and the town was built from the 'thread' (cotton in South Africa) I was going to do a skit but it clouded over and it was too chilly when I came out of the mill.

After a sit down in the Morrisons Cafe I made my way to the bus with my sister in law's birthday cake in a bag. Fortunately it was a sturdy cake and not damaged.  After a lovely meal at a restaurant, my brother surprised her with the customary song.
