Today is a landmark day.
150 times, I have sat late at night, writing short vignettes about my daily escapades.
From packing my flat, to deciding what clothes to keep, to visiting strange dorps and everything in between, somehow I managed to write here every day.
Apart from dodgy internet in Drakensberg where I had to post it the following morning, my evening pages has become part of my routine.
It has kept me reflective, present and mostly grateful.
I have 150 snippets of trips from tunnels under the sea, to a revolving restaurant, to wind, rain, chilly walks and happy runs. To scary drives and amazing temples, to smelly water and playful dolphins, to exotic meals and bunny chows, to chats with strangers and cake with new friends, to huge birds and the oldest tree in Durban, to steam trains and high teas, to beautiful buildings and impressive jungles, to heart clutching hills and massive ships.... it's all written here.
I never thought of myself as consistent. I used to think that I had trouble completing things. But that was just the inner critic that loved to mess with my head. I scan my photos and blogs and marvel at this first part of my World Tour of South Africa. What a wonderful planet I live on.
Plus there are domestic furry beings to give me love.
