1200 years..

Sunday 5th June 2022 My headache shifted. Yey! The weather was British so we took our time to get started with the adventuring. I must admit to still feeling a little overwhelmed by all the buildings, choices and chocolate. I still find it fascinating to be standing on the ground that has evidence of inhabitants in the years 1000.

We visited the St Edmundsbury cathedral which has stained glass windows leading up to the stunning ceilings. Originating in the 11th century and only recently finished it's both one of the oldest and newest cathedrals.

My excitement soared while walking through the Abby gardens with wild grass around ancient graves and then the ruins of the old buildings. It's simply goosebump stuff, to think of the millions of feet over the soil.. I also love squirrels which appeared from the trees for a quick 'take away' from an obvious regular feeder. We also just missed sighting a tiny deer. It's amazing to see the old buildings converted into luxury homes and I would love to have seen inside one or two. The weather stayed cool and I used my hood to shield my neck against the wind.

Now I'm watching the final of a talent show instead of seeing clips on YouTube.  Still all a little surreal that I'm here.  Particularly after my delirious first two weeks.  But here I am, hunting for the remote to mute the advertisements, lol!
