Yey, the sunshine stayed all day! And that's my first week back in South Africa. Today was the first morning I felt real fatigue so I didn't rush to get up and out despite the fair weather. I had some errands to do but no formal plans so I made my way to the shops in a different direction.
I'm noticing that there's been a lot of repairs on potholes but see the heavy rains have cracked open new ones. The grass still has the luminous green of spring which the rains have enhanced. I'm loving seeing all the smiley faces compared to the masked chins when I left. I'm also engaging in conversations in the different shops now and am enjoying the interactions. I managed to get my flip phone looked at and fortunately it was only the screen protector cover which I managed to get replaced.
I love gadget shops and the China mall nearby excites me more than it should, lol. There's so many little things that I know I won't buy but today I was looking at a karaoke microphone with it's own speaker. I don't sing but it is fun seeing the store people's reactions when I know what all the buttons are for. We struck up a conversation about business and money making, and the chap said to his colleague he needs to buy shares and be an investor. He then turned to me and said the sad thing is everyone wants to be the boss and have the shine. It was a lovely chat and I walked out smiling and pleased that my phond screen is now less bubbly.
I went into chef mode again and made a Shepherds pie which was rather pleasant. My sister has been booked off work for the rest of the week as she has been under the weather. She also promises to make supper soon but I've been enjoying the novelty.
