Domestic Sunday

Sunday 5th March 2023

Today I had a bit of post travel blues. Not too hectic, just a little bit of 'aww'. I woke up late and my knee has been giving me a bit of a limp so I walked Molly instead of trying to force myself into a run. It was a pleasant morning and Molly was very happy to be sniffing the streets again.

I noticed the swallows again and they're busy practicing and strengthening their muscles for their long trip north. It reminded me that I have about 10 weeks left before my trip north too. Maybe we'll arrive at the same time, haha.

The rest of my day was filled with a bit of tinkering, laundry, netflixing and chatting on the phone.  We had a full 14 hours of electricity which threw us a little.  I could put laundry in the machine knowing that it would be done before any power cut. Psychologically it must be doing something to the people of South Africa,  I just can't figure out what,  exactly.

Toughening us up, perhaps? As I write this with the emergency light on low, to ensure it lasts 2 hours....

Mind you, I might doze off before the power returns lol.
